March 2012
Discover Science & Engineering has reduced funding available for partnership in 2012.
The main areas of remit for DSE include careers, maths, space, second-level science and Science Week.
Its main audiences include students at all levels (with a particular focus on those in primary and secondary education), their parents and teachers, and the wider public. DSE also works closely with third-level institutions and with intermediary audiences such as industry and the media.
The main areas for which partners are being sought are:
- Science Week with a regional focus
- Maths Week with a national focus
- Careers (technology and/or space industry)
Applications for partnership support must be made on the partnership application form (MS Word, 86KB)
Fully completed application forms must be received by Discover Science & Engineering by close of business on 20 April 2012.
Please note that financial support is subject to availability of funds.
Please note that in all categories total funding is very limited and that following this process DSE expects to provide in 2012 a total of €120,000 across approximately 15/20 projects for delivery in 2012, i.e. an average support level of less than €7,000 per project.
While support can be up to a maximum of 50% of a project’s total costs, typically the average funding will be 20% to 25% of costs and necessarily substantially less in the case of large projects.
